November is a fantastic month to do some creative writing, the seasons change rapidly and autumn quickly merges into winter. In the UK we are celebrating Bonfire Night with fireworks and friends and in the US towards the end of the month there is Thanksgiving. These FREE Printable Creative Writing Prompts for November are great for your upper primary and lower secondary school child to use to develop their creative writing skills.

Creative Writing with Kids

Whether you have a child who loves to write and invent their own stories or one who looks at a page with dread not knowing using prompts can help to focus and develop writing skills.

Each month with our free printable creative writing prompts I provide a prompt per day which you can dip in and out of to inspire your kids to write using their skills and imagination.

The prompts cover a range of genres as well as style of writing from poetry to letters and stories. When I used them with my own children at home I would pick and choose from the list a few times a week sometimes picking the prompt and at other times letting my children pick the prompt themselves.
